Chad Gable’s redemption tour hits a Maxxine Dupri-sized roadblock

Chad Gable’s redemption tour hits a Maxxine Dupri-sized roadblock

Ever since losing his Mask vs. Mask match with El Grande Americano and being accepted by the AAA Lucha Libre Noche de los Grandes crowd in Monterrey, Mexico after humbling himself, Chad Gable has been on a redemption tour on the WWE main roster.

So far, his apologies have been accepted by WWE fans and luchadors on Raw and SmackDown the same way they were in AAA. Which is understandable, as Gable’s words have sounded extremely sincere, and his actions have backed them up.

But Gable’s treatment of lucha libre was downright respectful compared to how he treated his former students in Alpha Academy. So even though his apology to Maxxine Dupri, Otis, Akira Tozawa on Raw today (May 22) was just as heartfelt, it was completely understandable when Dupri stopped Tozawa and Otis from accepting it.

Sure do hope Chad can prove he’s changed to Maxxine… you don’t think she’d treat him like crap anyway, do you? She has been spending time with Austin Theory and The Vision…

She couldn’t convince Otis and Tozawa to go along with her if she sides with Theory against Chad, could she?

This was a strong segment where (Dupri’s recent associations notwithstanding), both sides made strong points that everyone involved sold with strong acting. No surprise from Gable, or even big O. But this was a big step forward for Maxxine — good enough that in the long-run, her promo from London could be used to argue she should have more Intercontinental title runs in her future.
