Chelsea Green Explains Why She Has No Interest In a More Serious WWE Character

Chelsea Green isn’t bothered by her comedy role in WWE, and she made it clear she’s not desperate to prove she can be serious.

While speaking on the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast, Matt Cardona asked Green if she wanted to show more range with serious storylines after finding success in a heavily entertaining role. Green pushed back by saying she has already done different versions of that throughout her career, including in NXT, TNA, and as Reclusa.

“No, I’ve done everything at different companies. Yeah. Like I’ve I was just telling you this. I feel like I’ve literally done everything. I was serious as Reclusa.”

When Cardona pointed out that her Reclusa run was short, Green said the length didn’t change the fact that she has already worked serious characters before. She also noted that her early TNA work and NXT run gave her chances to wrestle and present herself in different ways before the Hot Mess character became something unique: “But so what? Like I have been serious. No, I get it. I was like serious when I was coming up in NXT.”

Green then explained that she actually loves what she is doing now and has no complaints about being used in an entertainment-heavy role. For her, trying to be serious just for the sake of it doesn’t guarantee a better spot on television.

“No, I love what I’m doing. I have no complaints. And also like okay being serious like where’s that going to get me? Not booked every week.”

Chelsea Green’s answer makes it clear she isn’t viewing comedy as a step down. She sees it as the role keeping her visible, useful, and active in WWE, while also knowing she has already proven she can handle more serious material when needed.
