Chelsea Green Says She Texts The Undertaker, Triple H, And Shawn Michaels Directly To Pitch Ideas

Chelsea Green appeared on Busted Open Radio just days after her heart procedure and used the conversation to lay out the work philosophy that’s defined her WWE run: don’t wait for opportunities, pitch for them and bump your ass off when they come.

Green, who underwent surgery this week to correct an arrhythmia caused by SVT, told hosts Dave LaGreca and Natalya she’s still on bed rest with one day left, then a week of taking it easy.

“I’m feeling good. My wounds are healing, and my heart feels heavy and my breathing is interesting, but we’re on the mend,” Green said. “I already pitched for this week. I can call in.”

The bigger conversation was about how Green has built her place on the WWE roster. She said she stopped trying to control her place on the card and refocused on what she could control.

“I’m going to use this to try to make sure that I have a job forever in another way, and those ways are like elevating other people, making other people look good, doing all the front facing things, the media, the appearances, speaking highly of the company that pays our bills and helps us build our dream homes, and just really being like a positive influence in the locker room,” Green said.

The 2024 Money In The Bank ladder match table bump that anchored Tiffany Stratton’s win, where Green was pushed off the top of a ladder through stacked tables at ringside, was a spot Green pitched weeks before the match. The men’s Money In The Bank match also tried to take it.

“The men tried to do that spot, and hanging off the briefcase dangling, which I think Gable ended up doing, maybe,” Green said. “TJ thought and said, ‘No, Chelsea asked for that weeks ago, and we’re going to give it to her.’ I mean, he’s honestly the best producer.”

The TJ in question is TJ Wilson, the former Tyson Kidd, who works as a WWE producer and is married to Natalya.

Green also told a longer story about the April 2024 Raw match where Jade Cargill beat her in 30 seconds. Green said she got the call to work that match while in transit to see her ailing 92-year-old grandmother in Calgary.

“I had literally just about landed in Calgary. I was going to go to my next flight, and they called me into Raw to lose to Jade in 30 seconds,” Green said. “I thought, if I don’t bump my ass off, this was all for nothing. God forbid my grandma passes away or something happens terribly. I want to know that I went to work, I turned around, worked hard, and I made Jade and her little finish look the best it’s ever looked. And that clip of me taking Jade’s finish, like, it’s always used in all her packages.”

Green described the same approach for a segment where she had to take a couple of barricade bumps during a Sonya Deville vs. Becky Lynch angle.

“I’m gonna look like I’m dying taking these,” Green said. “You have to, because if you don’t bump your butt off for those people, you’re just making yourself look bad as well. You’re not just making them look bad. You’re making yourself look bad. Everyone knows that our audience is smart.”

The pitching extends past in-ring spots. Green said she and Natalya both directly text Triple H, The Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels with ideas.

“Now we can do that. We can just text The Undertaker. We can just text Triple H. Thank God, it’s amazing, the open line of communication that we have,” Green said. “It doesn’t always happen. There’s 1,000,001 things I’ve pitched, the whole world makes fun of me for all the ridiculous pitches I have. But hey, every now and then. The squeaky wheel gets the freaking grease.”

Green has been sidelined since February with an ankle injury. Doctors discovered her SVT after an episode around WrestleMania 42 sent her heart rate to 228 BPM during a roughly 15-minute stretch, and she underwent the corrective procedure earlier this week. She has continued to appear in storyline segments from a wheelchair, most recently with Tiffany Stratton on the May 1 episode of SmackDown, and has pitched WWE on a call-in spot for this week’s programming.
