With the Premier League season now over, attention is turning to the upcoming transfer window.

While the World Cup in the United States will take centre stage this summer, all 20 top flight sides will likely be busy during the window.

Chelsea have been one of the most active Premier League clubs in the market over the past few years, with the west London outfit’s owners buying and selling players frequently.

With that in mind, though, it has emerged that the Blues have put a substantial price tag on one of their most important players.

According to talkSPORT, Chelsea have set an asking price of £120 million for midfielder Enzo Fernandez ahead of the summer window.

The report claims that the Argentine is keen to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after the Blues failed to qualify for European football next term.

Fernandez joined Chelsea from Benfica in 2023 for a fee of around £106 million – a British transfer record at the time.

Since then the midfielder has made 169 appearances for the club across all competitions, helping Chelsea to win both the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Conference League last term.

The report claims that the Argentina international has become frustrated, though, particularly since his side failed to qualify for Europe.

Fernandez, 25, has previously been linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, and the report suggests that the player’s agent, Javier Pastore, has been in contact with the La Liga side.

Despite the midfielder having more than six years remaining on his current contract at Stamford Bridge, it is claimed that Chelsea are open to allowing the player to leave for the right price this summer.

Chelsea are also said to be intent on deciding the player’s future as soon as possible, in order to minimise disruption for incoming manager Xabi Alonso.
