Chelsea host fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur in their penultimate match of the season on Tuesday evening.

The Blues suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against Manchester City in the final of the FA Cup on Saturday, with Antoine Semenyo’s goal the difference at Wembley.

On Sunday, though, the west London outfit announced Xabi Alonso as their new manager, succeeding Calum McFarlane who has been in temporary charge since the sacking of Liam Rosenior in April.

Alonso will inherit a side that have endured a dismal season this term, and the Spaniard is therefore likely to want to make changes to his squad during this summer’s transfer window.

With that in mind, it appears that the London side are set to sell one of their attackers this summer.

As per TEAMtalk, Chelsea are set to allow striker Liam Delap to depart Stamford Bridge during the upcoming window.

The report claims that the London outfit are set to overhaul their squad in attack this summer, with Alonso keen to add ‘ready-made’ players to his squad.

Delap, 23, joined the Blues from Ipswich Town last summer having netted 12 times for the Tractor Boys last term.

He has struggled since arriving at Stamford Bridge, though, scoring just three times in 45 games across all competitions.

The report suggests that Chelsea are contemplating moves for several players, including Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen and Brentford’s Igor Thiago, who has scored 22 Premier League goals so far this season.

Delap, meanwhile, looks set to leave Chelsea after just one season with the club despite being under contract until the end of the 2030/31 season.

Everton and Newcastle United are both said to be interested in the Englishman, who previously impressed for Manchester City’s academy.
