Things got heated around Anna Jay’s AEW future, and now a clarification has been issued after she publicly shut down claims about her situation.
The talk picked up after comments surfaced suggesting uncertainty about her AEW deal and frustration about her role. Those comments were made by Sean Ross Sapp, and Anna Jay didn’t stay quiet — she fired back online, making it clear she wasn’t buying what was being said about her.
After that backlash, Sean Ross Sapp issued a clarification explaining where the original information came from and how it was obtained in the first place. According to his response, the information that sparked the situation originally came from representatives connected to Jay when details about her contract surfaced last year. He also confirmed that he reached out directly to Anna Jay after the controversy picked up.
“Full disclosure, I have reached out to Anna Jay today to communicate this — The information came directly from her reps/agents at the time when the details of her deal came out last year. Literally all of it. They have since said that she is handling her new deal herself.”
Sean Ross Sapp also acknowledged that if the information provided back then wasn’t accurate, responsibility for relaying it was still taken while maintaining that everything shared came from those earlier conversations.
“If they misrepresented that info, sorry to relay that info! But that’s the complete story about how that emerged. Every bit of it.”
Before the clarification was issued, Anna Jay made her stance loud and clear with a direct response shutting down the speculation and confirming she would be back in action.
“I don’t know where this information is coming from, and you don’t know what you’re talking about. Please shut up. See you guys on collision Saturday 😍”
Anna Jay is set to return on the May 2 episode of AEW Collision, where she’ll challenge Willow Nightingale for the TBS Championship in her first match since November 2025. The noise around her future picked up fast, but with both sides now speaking publicly, attention is moving back to what matters — what happens when she steps into that title match.
