CM Punk Apologizes To Roman Reigns For Sika Reference On WWE RAW

A rare moment happened on the April 13, 2026, episode of WWE RAW, where CM Punk came face-to-face with Roman Reigns and issued a real apology. This was very different from what had been happening between them for the past few weeks.

Last month, Punk mentioned Reigns’ late father, Sika Anoa’i, and said that he would “bury” Reigns next to him. Many people from the Samoan wrestling family found it disrespectful, and the line didn’t sit well with fans for a while.

Later, The Usos confronted Punk and told him to apologize. But instead of saying sorry, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion criticized Reigns and The Bloodline, which led to a fight.

However, this week felt completely different.

CM Punk addresses Sika reference during Roman Reigns segment on WWE RAW

This week on RAW, Reigns accused Punk of being a “liar” and told him to speak the “truth” to him.

During the final segment, Punk came in through the crowd and stood on the announce table before speaking. He talked about what he called Reigns’ “political smear campaign” and asked Reigns to judge him honestly. Then he got in the ring and started one of his most honest promos ever.

Punk admitted that part of his hatred for Reigns came from jealousy. He talked about being jealous of Reigns’ family legacy and success, including his long title reign and WrestleMania main events.

Then Punk talked about Reigns’ father. He called Sika a great man and wrestler and then said he was sorry for using his name the wrong way. This time, the apology felt real, and the crowd reacted differently.

“Sika was a great man. Sika was a great wrestler. Sika was a champion. Sika’s a Hall of Famer. And I love and respect the old-timers. And I hate the fact that I invoked your father’s name in vain. And I sincerely apologize to you,” Punk said.

CM Punk then talked about his own journey and compared Roman Reigns’ strong family background with his own path. Reigns responded by saying Punk was finally being honest. But he also made it clear he still doesn’t like him, partly because of how much fans connect with him.
