Conor Benn commits future to Dana White with new Zuffa deal

Conor Benn has committed his future to Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing after inking a new long-term deal with the promotional outfit.

Benn signed with White’s Zuffa in a bombshell move from Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom in February.

‘The Destroyer’ initially signed for one fight, in a deal worth reportedly $15m.

The 29-year-old put on a dominant display to outpoint Regis Prograis in his first bout under the Zuffa banner on Saturday on the undercard of Tyson Fury’s win over Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Essex man was a free agent following the clash, but has now put pen to paper on a multi-fight deal with White.

“Just signed a new multi-fight deal which I’m very happy about,” he said.

“Our visions are aligned.

“Our goal remains the same to get that world title, but more importantly give people want the fights they want.

“Give people the mega fights.”

Hearn had promoted Benn’s entire professional career up until his shock departure.

The Matchroom Chairman accused his former charge of disloyalty, particularly after he vehemently backed him following two failed drug tests which cancelled his original showdown with Chris Eubank Jr in 2022.

Earlier this week, Hearn ruled out resigning his former charge.

“As I understand it I can [make an offer to Benn],” the 46-year-old told media including Pro Boxing Fans on Tuesday.

“I believe that would be a complete waste of time and I certainly won’t be.”

The first fight of Benn’s new deal with Zuffa could come against WBC welterweight world champion, Ryan Garcia with the pair reportedly in talks for an August meeting.

Benn’s bout with Prograis was contested at 150 pounds, 10 pounds lighter than his two fights with Chris Eubank Jr last year.
