This year’s Digicel Ceremonial Delivery of the Last Canes and Vintage Calypso Tent has been relocated from the National Botanical Garden

Chief Executive Officer at the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) Carol Roberts made that announcement on Thursday morning at Golden Square Freedom Park, Bridgetown.

“We made a decision early yesterday morning to seek permission from the Ministry to relocate the official launch of the Crop Over Festival to a number of public squares in Bridgetown.

“We are committed to the sanctity of the environmental space that is the National Botancial Garden and we felt that due to the excessive rain, and after consultation with the dendrologist Nigel Jones, that it would be best not to put a put footprints in the space at this time,” Roberts said.
