Darby Allin said he was getting married, and he actually pulled it off right in the middle of one of the busiest stretches of his life.
The AEW star took to Instagram Stories and revealed that he officially married Sara Erickson in a private wedding ceremony. Darby shared a photo from the ceremony, showing Sara in traditional wedding attire while he kept things very Darby by wearing a black suit. So yeah, no shocker there.
Darby also posted a video from the ceremony, and somehow the whole thing still had his usual chaotic energy. In the clip, he revealed that he gave his brother the world’s hottest pepper before they walked out, because apparently even his wedding needed a stunt-level twist.
This comes after Darby previously told Q1043 New York that his wedding was set for June 27, just one day before another AEW pay-per-view. That meant there was basically no time for a honeymoon, but Darby already knew that going in.
“June 27th. June 27th. Yes. So it’s coming up. It’s coming up. I just found out the wedding’s on the 27th, and the very next day we have another pay-per-view. So no honeymoon—it’ll be in Seattle, where we’re from.”
Darby also previously explained that he and Sara go way back, first meeting on a school bus in high school. Years later, they reconnected through Instagram after she saw one of his wild stunt videos, and things moved pretty fast from there.
“Yeah, we met her on the school bus in high school and at the time she was dating a wannabe gang member. And I thought to myself, how did he get her? Instagram. She’s like, ‘It’s so cool that you’re still doing all the crazy stuff from high school.’ And then I was like, ‘Let’s hang out,’ and then brought her bungee jumping and then I proposed to her on top of Everest.”
He also shared the terrifying story of Sara surviving a shooting years ago, saying she was shot in the head after a bullet passed through her boyfriend at the time and hit her.
“They’re walking on a trail one day, and then he starts arguing with another wannabe gang member and that guy pulls out a gun. Her boyfriend at the time puts her behind him, and then the other guy shoots the boyfriend, goes through her neck and into her head. So, she got shot in the head.”
Darby Allin later proposed to Sara on top of Mount Everest, which is about as over-the-top as it gets, even for him.
“We reconnect all these years later. She sees a video of me jumping off a waterfall and next thing you know, we’re engaged. I proposed to her on top of Mount Everest.”
So now Darby Allin is officially married, and somehow even his wedding came with a pepper prank, a black suit, and no real honeymoon window. Between AEW, pay-per-view chaos, and married life, Darby clearly is not slowing down anytime soon.
