Disco Inferno is now taking aim at Mick Foley after Foley made it clear he was walking away from WWE over the company’s relationship with Donald Trump.
Disco took to Twitter and criticized Foley’s decision, arguing that WWE’s connection to the Trump administration is tied to youth fitness and nutrition, not something he believes should have pushed Foley away from the company.
“I like Mick Foley, but he’s an idiot. Is he aware that the WWE is partnering with the Trump administration on improving YOUTH FITNESS AND NUTRITION?? So if that was a red line for him, his mental acumen needs to come under scrutiny. For real.”
Foley previously told Orlando Weekly that his political stance had cost him some support, though he acknowledged people had the right to stop supporting him if they disagreed.
“People know that I’m not on board with a lot of things the current administration is doing. I have fans who feel different, and still like and support me. And I have [fans] who dropped out of the fandom, which is obviously their right.”
Foley had also stated in December 2025 that Trump’s comments following the deaths of Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner were the “final straw” for him. He said he no longer wanted to represent WWE while Trump remained in office.
“Reading the President’s incredibly cruel comments in the wake of Rob Reiner’s death is the final straw for me. I no longer wish to represent a company that coddles a man so seemingly void of compassion as he marches our country towards autocracy.”
Even then, Foley made it clear he still had love for WWE and appreciated what the company had done for his career.
“I love WWE, will always treasure my time with them, and I am deeply appreciative for all the opportunities they afforded me.”
The situation now comes as Foley prepares to make his AEW debut during Double or Nothing weekend. Tony Khan has already said Foley’s current role will be focused on broadcasting, with appearances expected at AEW pay-per-views and select television events. Foley confirmed his AEW debut on Instagram, saying he was excited to join Renee Paquette on the Double or Nothing Buy In pre-show.
“FOLEY IS ALL ELITE! I am extremely happy to be making my debut with @aew – joining @reneepaquette on the #DoubleOrNothing pre-show.”
Disco’s comments show that Foley’s WWE exit is still creating reaction across wrestling, especially now that his AEW role is becoming official. Foley has framed the move as a personal moral decision, while Disco clearly believes he is overreacting to WWE’s Trump connection.
