Dolphin win South Munster U14 League Final Dolphin 40 Clonakilty 22
Congratulations to Conor Pollock & Pat O’Sullivan and their excellent team on their win over a gallant Clonakilty side.
They had played Clonakilty twice before in the league and won both home and away. On the day Clonakilty came at Dolphin from the start and their forwards got over for the opening score.
Dolphin quickly came back into it and a try from centre Jamie Hickey, top scorer for the day, and not the first time, converted by Ronan O’Mahony saw Dolphin take the lead which they never lost.
A 2nd try extended the lead to 12-5, but Clon narrowed it to 12-10. 5 mins into the 2nd half it was 19-10. A further exchange of tries and it was 26-15
2 quick tries and Dolphin were comfortable at 40-15. Clonakilty went in for a 4th try and converted it but the referee called time up.
Dolphin are back in action on Wednesday night in the U14 Plate final v Bandon.
