Real Club de Campo de Madrid secured qualification for next season’s EHL Women’s competition after a resounding 5-0 victory over Club Egara at Pla del Bon Aire.
Pablo Usoz’s team were crowned champions of the regular season which brought with it confirmation they will continue their ever-present run in the women’s format of the EHL.
They won with two goals from Berta Agulló and one each from Begoña García, Sara Barrios, and María López.
City rivals Complutense also secured an away victory, 2-0 in Castelldefels, with goals from Sara Carmona and Lucía Jiménez before the ten-minute mark; they are also confirmed in the playoff places.
Egara and Atlètic Terrassa are in pole position for the remaining places for the top four spots with only Junior FC – six points back from both – with an outside chance of joining them.
In the men’s competition, the title race is going down to the wire with Campo and Real Club de Polo locked on 51 points with two rounds of matches to go.
They are confirmed in the playoffs with Atlètic Terrassa are 11 points back but a three-point buffer over fourth and fifth placed Sanse Complutense and Junior FC.
