Waterloo Ducks became the second side to qualify for next season’s EHL Men from Belgium as they reached their national championship final with a semi-final win over Orée.
They took a narrow one-goal lead from Thursday’s first leg into the return match on Sunday and duly struck first through Toni Domene and then Diego Lucaccioni made it 2-0 in the second half.
Orée struck back to equalise by the 47th minute through Hugo Labouchere and Lautaro Domene but the WatDucks held on for the 3-2 aggregate win.
They will meet Braxgata in the final after they won a shoot-out against Gantoise 4-2 after the sides were inseparable over two legs. Thursday ended 3-3 and Sunday’s game saw Etienne Tynevez and Marc Reyné trade goals for a 1-1 result.
In the shoot-out, Reyné, Thibeau Stockbroekx, Tobias Biekens and Arthur Van Droen all scored to earn their victory.
Gantoise will now meet Orée next weekend to see who takes the third EHL Men’s spot on offer.
