El Grande Americano Appears at AAA Serenata Event After Ludwig Kaiser Arrest Controversy

El Grande Americano Appears at AAA Serenata Event After Ludwig Kaiser Arrest Controversy

El Grande Americano made it to Mexico after all, despite the controversy surrounding Ludwig Kaiser’s recent arrest in Florida.

AAA’s rescheduled “Serenata Para” event took place on Friday at the Kings League Dome, and El Grande Americano did appear as advertised. The public appearance was free, but entry was limited to the first 300 attendees. Before the event started, AAA posted a video of Americano speaking ahead of the appearance. In the clip, he sounded excited to finally be there.

“My people, we’re here. Where are you guys? I can’t wait. I’m really, really excited, and honestly, I really, really wanted to be here. I’m ready. Let’s go.”

Another clip from the event showed El Grande Americano wiping a tear from his mask during his entrance, leaning into the emotional “serenade” presentation that AAA had promoted for the character.

The appearance came after a sudden turnaround from AAA. The promotion had initially canceled the El Grande Americano event after Kaiser, whose real name is Marcel Barthel, was arrested in Orange County, Florida earlier this week over an alleged April 23 altercation at the Paramount on Lake Eola Apartments in Orlando.

Ringside News previously reported that Barthel turned himself in after learning there was an active warrant for his arrest. He later posted $1,000 bond and entered a written plea of not guilty.

The misdemeanor battery case remains active, with investigators previously stating probable cause was established through witness statements, visible injuries, surveillance footage, and a photo lineup identification.

Kaiser’s legal team later filed a supplemental motion asking the court to allow out-of-state and international travel while the case continues. The key detail was that prosecutors were not objecting to the request.

“Since the initial filing of the Motion to Travel, undersigned counsel communicated with Assistant State Attorney Shaylynne Kotch, who indicated no objection to this motion.”

The filing then formally asked the court to approve travel tied to WWE and AAA-related obligations.

“WHEREFORE, for the foregoing reasons, the Defendant respectfully requests this Honorable Court to enter an Order allowing him to travel out of the State of Florida and internationally.”

AAA’s decision to reschedule the event and follow through with El Grande Americano’s appearance now makes it clear the company is continuing with the storyline despite the ongoing legal situation.

Kaiser remains scheduled for AAA Noche de Los Grandes on May 30, where he is set to wrestle under the El Grande Americano mask against Chad Gable in a Mask vs. Mask match tied to their ongoing storyline.

Even with the legal case still active, El Grande Americano’s Kings League Dome appearance shows AAA is moving forward as planned for now. The canceled event was brought back, the character appeared in Mexico, and all signs still point toward the May 30 match with Chad Gable remaining on the schedule.
