The 29-year-old signed a minor league contract with the Blue Jays toward the end of the 2025 season after being released by the Tampa Bay Rays. He signed another minor league deal with the Blue Jays before the start of the season, which came with an invite to Spring Training.
Jiménez had impressive spring training, slashing .286/.333/.524 with two home runs, four doubles, and three RBIs. But with no room on the roster, he was sent down to Triple-A and ended up hitting a home run and five RBI in six games with the Buffalo Bisons.
The designated hitter was selected to the Blue Jays roster on April 12th after George Springer suffered a fracture toe. In 12 games with the Blue Jays this season, Jiménez slashed .290/.343/.290 with three RBIs in 31 at-bats.

Through 546 career games, Jiménez has hit 95 home runs with 301 RBIs. He also has a career .778 OPS and recorded his 300th RBI back on April 21st against the Los Angeles Angels.
