HAMILTON, Ontario — Canadian lightweight prospect Eric Basran is set for the biggest fight of his career, headlining “The Homecoming” boxing card on May 30 at Royal King Palace in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia.
The event, promoted by Three Lions Promotions, will see Basran compete for the vacant WBC International Silver Lightweight title against Chilean champion Sebastian Caucaman.
Basran Steps Into First 10-Round Main Event
Basran (8-1, 3 KOs), fighting out of Surrey, B.C., returns home after gaining valuable international experience, including participation in last year’s WBC Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia, where he suffered his first professional defeat.
Now, he believes that setback has helped shape him into a more complete fighter.
“This will be the biggest fight of my life,” Basran said. “I learned so much in Saudi Arabia and I’m ready to showcase my improved skills.”
The 27-year-old will be stepping into his first scheduled 10-round bout, a significant milestone as he moves closer to world-level contention.
Sebastian Caucaman Brings Momentum Into Title Fight
Across the ring stands Caucaman (5-1-1, 2 KOs), the reigning Chilean lightweight champion, who enters the fight with confidence after a dominant performance last October.
In that bout, Caucaman delivered a one-sided 10-round unanimous decision victory to capture his national title, showcasing both durability and ring IQ over championship distance.
Strong Support Card Featuring Canadian Talent
The Vancouver card features a deep lineup of rising Canadian prospects and regional champions:
Co-Main Event
- Buneet Bisla (14-1, 7 KOs) vs TBA
Surrey light heavyweight contender and former amateur champion returns in an 8-round co-feature.
Featured Super Middleweight Attraction
- John-Michael Bianco (9-1, 4 KOs) vs Harkirat Nijjar (6-0, 5 KOs)
A clash between Canada’s reigning national champion and an unbeaten rising force.
Additional Fighters on the Card
- Nyousha Nakhjiri (5-0, 2 KOs) – Vancouver flyweight prospect
- Meilyn Sanchez Martinez (3-0, 1 KO) – unbeaten bantamweight from Hamilton
- Vadym Klym (2-0) – Toronto welterweight prospect
Promoter Daniel Otter emphasized the importance of the event in shaping Canada’s next wave of boxing talent.
“This card reflects the strength and depth of Canadian boxing right now,” Otter said.
Why This Fight Matters
For Eric Basran, this main event represents more than just a title opportunity—it’s a chance to establish himself as a legitimate international contender.
A win would:
- Secure the WBC International Silver title
- Elevate his global ranking
- Reinforce his status as one of Canada’s top lightweight prospects
For Caucaman, it’s a chance to extend his momentum and derail a rising hometown star on foreign soil.
A Defining Night for Canadian Boxing
With multiple undefeated fighters, national champions, and rising prospects featured, “The Homecoming” is shaping up as a showcase event for Canadian boxing’s next generation.
All eyes, however, will be on Basran as he steps into the most important fight of his career in front of a home-country crowd.
