Errol Spence Jr.’s long rumored bout with Tim Tszyu being tabbed for July 26 in Australia

Talk surrounding Errol Spence Jr.’s in-ring return is starting to gain clarity. Recent reports suggest his next move is finally taking shape.

According to Dan Rafael, the long rumored fight with Tim Tszyu is now being targeted for late July. The bout is expected to take place on Sunday afternoon, July 26, in Australia. That timing would line up with a Saturday night broadcast in the United States on July 25.

The event will air on PBC PPV on Prime Video.

For Spence, the bout will serve as his proper debut at junior middleweight. In addition, it will mark his first appearance in nearly three years. His last outing came in a stoppage loss to longtime rival Terence Crawford.

Tszyu enters the matchup with momentum. He has won his last two fights and looked sharp. His most recent victory came in April, when he stopped Denis Nurja.

Both fighters will bring changes into the ring. Each man is working with a new trainer heading into this contest.

Tszyu, who holds a record of 27-3 with 18 knockouts, will train under Australian legend and International Boxing Hall of Fame member Jeff Fenech.

On the other side, Errol Spence (28-2, 22 KOs) will now work with Ronnie Shields. This change follows his well publicized split from longtime trainer Derrick James.
