Excel Esports Expands Global Community with New Local Chapters Across Africa and Beyond – Esports Africa News

Excel Esports has announced a major expansion of its Local Chapters initiative, adding new communities across Africa, Europe, North America, Oceania, and the Caribbean. The move reflects the growing global appeal of competitive spreadsheet gaming and creates new opportunities for players to represent their local communities on an international stage.

Among the most significant developments is the launch of 12 new French-speaking Local Chapters, including several across Africa. New chapters have been established in Cameroon, Congo, DR Congo, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Niger, Senegal, and Burkina Faso, alongside Belgium, France, Canada (French-speaking), and Haiti.

Excel Esports has also confirmed the launch of new English-speaking Local Chapters in Australia and New Zealand, while existing communities in India, Indonesia, and Chile will begin new competitive seasons.

For Esports Africa News, this announcement is particularly exciting because it demonstrates how African participation in emerging esports disciplines continues to grow. While traditional esports titles often dominate headlines, competitive spreadsheet gaming is creating a unique space where analytical thinking, business skills, digital literacy, and competitive gaming intersect.

The inclusion of eight African nations in this latest expansion highlights the continent’s growing influence within the global esports ecosystem. It also provides new opportunities for African players to compete internationally, build communities in their own languages, and showcase their skills on a global stage.

The upcoming competitive season will follow a structured qualification pathway:

  • Qualification Round 1: July 23–26, 2026
  • Qualification Round 2: August 20–23, 2026
  • Qualification Round 3: September 17–20, 2026
  • Finals: October 29, 2026

Participation remains free for local citizens and residents, lowering barriers to entry and making the competition accessible to a broader audience. Winners will also have the opportunity to compete for special prizes, including the prospect of reaching the Finals in Las Vegas.

At Esports Africa News, we are proud to see African communities represented in initiatives that expand the definition of esports and digital competition. Whether through traditional esports, mobile gaming, simulation titles, or spreadsheet competitions, every new pathway strengthens Africa’s position in the global gaming industry.

As local chapters begin to grow across Cameroon, Senegal, Ivory Coast, DR Congo, Congo, Guinea, Niger, and Burkina Faso, we look forward to following the stories, players, and communities that emerge from this next chapter of Excel Esports.

The future of esports is diverse, inclusive, and increasingly global—and Africa is helping shape that future.
