Fans React To Packers’ Historic 2026 Schedule Announcement

The lights at Lambeau Field will be on for some extra time in the 2026 NFL season, with Green Bay scheduled to face teams in prime time games at home more than usual.

As announced by the team on Thursday, Green Bay will not have just one, not two, not three, not four, but five primetime games at Lambeau Field. It is the first time in franchise history that it will have that many such contests.

The first of those games will be Green Bay’s home opener in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons, a Thursday Night Football showdown.

The next one will be the Week 6 matchup versus the Dallas Cowboys on a Sunday night.  In Week 8, the Packers face the Carolina Panthers on a Thursday, giving Green Bay a chance to avenge an upset loss to Bryce Young and company in 2025. In Week 14, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills will be coming to town, and in Week 17, Green Bay hosts the Houston Texans.

That announcement from Green Bay generated quite a buzz on social media.

“Christmas at Soldier Field hits different. Lambeau’s been home forever but there’s something about playing the Bears in Chicago on that day that feels right for this rivalry,” said a fan on X.

Another one said: “It’s really seven with Chicago and LA, we are the real America’s team.”

From a commenter: “The Green Bay Packers are AMERICA’S TEAM!!”

“For this to be a successful season we must go 8-1 at home,” a social media user posted.

Via a different commenter: “I cannot wait for the season, but I’m going to be patient because the start is officially the end of Summer!!.”

Said another: “First time in the series’ history! So excited!”
