Farewell Spitalfields market – Goodordering

Farewell Spitalfields market – Goodordering

After much thought, I’ve made the decision to stop trading at Spitalfields Market for the foreseeable future. This hasn’t been an easy choice to make. Spitalfields has been a meaningful part of my journey with Goodordering, and it’s a place tied to so many memories—both personal and professional.

Over the years, the market has given me the opportunity to meet so many of you face-to-face. There’s something special about those in-person conversations—hearing your stories, seeing how you use your bags in everyday life, and watching people discover Goodordering for the first time. Those moments have always been the highlight for me. Running a small brand can sometimes feel quite solitary, so being out at the market, chatting, laughing, and connecting, has meant a lot.

However, as much as I value those experiences, I also have to be realistic about the numbers. In recent months, it’s become clear that trading at Spitalfields is no longer economically viable for me. Some of you may have noticed in my recent videos that sales haven’t been as strong as they once were. Markets can be unpredictable, and while footfall is still high, the types of products that tend to perform well there have shifted. After taking a step back and looking at things objectively, I’ve come to realise that Goodordering isn’t currently the best fit for that environment.

This doesn’t mean I’m stepping away from in-person experiences altogether—far from it. If you’d still like to see and try Goodordering products in real life, you absolutely can. I work with a number of wonderful stockists who carry a selection of my bags, and I’d encourage you to visit them if you prefer to shop in person. Alternatively, you’re always welcome to get in touch with me directly to arrange an appointment. I know how important it can be to see, feel, and try something before buying, and I’m more than happy to accommodate that where possible.

While this chapter is coming to a close, I don’t see it as a permanent goodbye to markets or pop-ups. In fact, I’m already thinking about new ways and new places to show up physically. I hope to pop up again soon somewhere that feels like a better fit, and when I do, you’ll be the first to know. I’ll be sharing any updates via Instagram, so make sure you’re following along there if you’d like to stay in the loop.

To everyone who has visited me at Spitalfields over the years—whether you stopped for a chat, made a purchase, or simply browsed—thank you. Your support has played a huge role in helping Goodordering grow, and I don’t take that for granted.

This feels like a natural point to refocus and move forward with intention. I’m excited about what’s next, even if it means letting go of something familiar. And as always, I’m incredibly grateful to have you along for the journey.
