Kristiansand Suns climbed into second position in Group A of the Federation Cup Qualifier, eliminating Bulgaria’s Lions NSA with a 25-5 drubbing that was mercifully ended in part due to heavy rains in Jánossomorja, Hungary. Lithuania’s Utenos Titani and Finland’s Puumat will play today, setting up the possibility of tie in the first pool of the cup.
Meanwhile, Jánossomorja’s Rascals moved to 2-0 with another complete effort, once more featuring prospect Martin Morua. In two games, the two-way, multi-positional player if 6-for-7 with two doubles and a homer and has won both games for the Hungarian club on the mound, striking out nine and permitting only four baserunners in 5.1 shutout innings. Romania’s Thunder Wolves Botoșani dropped to 1-1 in the loss, while Finland’s Tampere Tigers joined them in joint second with a 10-0 bashing of Kyiv.
