Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Signs With The Dallas Cowboys For 2026 NFL Season

The Green Bay Packers have done a great deal of work when it comes to transforming their wide receiver room. For years, Davante Adams dominated targets in Green Bay, and for good reason. One of the best pass catchers in franchise history, Adams and Aaron Rodgers had extraordinary chemistry, and the Packers’ offense reaped the benefits.

Following the 2021 season, though, Green Bay traded Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders and, essentially, started over from scratch at the wide receiver position.

In addition to parting ways with Adams during the 2022 off-season, the Packers also allowed Marquez Valdes-Scantling to walk in free agency.

Valdes-Scantling spent a few years with the Kansas City Chiefs, winning two Super Bowls during his tenure with them. However, he has bounced around the NFL over the last few seasons.

Earlier this week, it was reported that he has been signed by the Dallas Cowboys:

In 2024, after his two seasons in Kansas City, Valdes-Scantling signed with the Buffalo Bills. However, he only caught two passes for 26 yards in six games for them before being released.

He was then signed by the New Orleans Saints, with whom he caught 17 passes for 385 yards and four touchdowns in eight games played.

Last year, Valdes-Scantling signed with the Seattle Seahawks ahead of training camp. However, he did not make their 53-man roster and was released. He was subsequently by the San Francisco 49ers, with whom he had four receptions for 40 yards in five games.

They, too, released him, and he was picked up by the Pittsburgh Steelers to reunite with Rodgers. In five games with them, he caught ten passes for 80 yards and a touchdown.

In Dallas, Valdes-Scantling will reunite with several former Packers teammates, notably Rashan Gary and Kenny Clark. It is worth noting that Valdes-Scantling and Clark were very good friends during their time together in Green Bay.
