The Rock Returns! Former World Heavyweight Champion Hasim Rahman, 53, Making Comeback July 14 in Rochester

Rochester, NY (May 28th, 2026)– Former World Heavyweight champion Hasim ‘The Rock’ Rahman, in an attempt to break the late George Foreman’s record and become the oldest world heavyweight champion in history, will return to the ring at ESL Ballpark in Rochester, New York, on July 14, 2026.
Rahman, 50-9-2 with 41 knockouts, Baltimore, Maryland, who fought between 1994 and 2014, is a veteran of seven world heavyweight title bouts, will turn 54 years old on November 7, 2026. Rahman last appeared in the ring 13 years ago in June of 2014, losing a decision in a three-round heavyweight tournament against Anthony Nansen. Rahman’s last win was a sixth-round stoppage of 35 wins heavyweight Galen Brown in Southaven, Mississippi, in June 2011, 25 years ago.
Showzen1 Productions Sports & Entertainment Media, in conjunction with Defying The Odds-A Celebration of America’s 250th Birthday, promoted by J Payne Promotions and Tavern Boxing Associates, is presenting the show on Tuesday evening, July 14, 2026, at ESL Ballpark in Rochester. The professional fight card is a charity benefit for The Boys & Girls Club of Rochester, The Lou Gramm Foundation, and Food Link of Rochester. Rising 3-0 Buffalo New York heavyweight prospect Joe Mesi Jr. (son of the former 40-0 heavyweight contender Joe Mesi), and 10-2-1 Rochester Irish junior welterweight Irish Red Williams will be featured on the card.
