Former WWE Star Says He Got A Raise Just Before Being Released

Parker Boudreaux didn’t see his WWE release coming at all, especially after the company had just given him more money weeks earlier.

The former NXT star, who wrestled under the name Harland during his WWE run, recently opened up about his surprising exit from the company during an interview with F4WOnline. Boudreaux was released by WWE in April 2022, but according to him, the timing made absolutely no sense from his perspective because he had just received a raise shortly beforehand.

“I was doing a great job, I thought, because I got a raise, you know, two weeks before I got released.”

The former WWE talent admitted the release completely blindsided him at the time.

“When I got released, obviously, it was super blindsiding and super unexpected, probably the most unexpected thing in a while.”

Despite the shock, Boudreaux said he eventually came to understand that unpredictability is simply part of the wrestling business.

“Looking back at it, of course, now I just realize that’s the pro wrestling business.”

Boudreaux also stressed that he gave WWE everything he had during his time in NXT and believes his growth since leaving the company proves how passionate he is about wrestling.

“For me, I knew I put my 100 percent work ethic in there.”

Since leaving WWE, Boudreaux has expanded his career internationally and spent significant time training in Japan. He also landed in AEW, where he worked alongside groups like The Trustbusters and Mogul Affiliates with Swerve Strickland. Even after his release, Boudreaux made it clear he still appreciates his time in WWE and believes there’s a chance he could eventually end up back there one day.

“I could definitely see myself back in WWE soon.”

Boudreaux originally entered WWE with major hype due to comparisons to Brock Lesnar stemming from his football background and physical appearance, but his first run with the company ended much faster than many expected.

Do you think Parker Boudreaux deserves another shot in WWE, or did the company make the right decision moving on from him? Let us know your thoughts and feedback in the comments below.
