Fortnite x Overwatch Collab Confirmed

Fortnite x Overwatch Collab Confirmed

The Fortnite Overwatch collaboration is confirmed for May 14, 2026. The crossover lands with the v40.40 update and kicks off Chapter 7 Season 2 Act 3, which Epic is calling “Answer the Call.”

Four Overwatch heroes are coming: D.Va, Tracer, Mercy, and Genji. All four were part of the original Overwatch roster when the game launched in 2016.

How It Was Confirmed

Epic Games posted a teaser on the official Fortnite X account. The video showed a silhouette of D.Va doing her signature heart pose, without her mech. The phrase “Answer the Call” is a direct reference to the Overwatch lore, tied to Winston’s recall that reunited the heroes.

Dataminers HYPEX and ShiinaBR had already spotted the collab in game files back in February 2026. The May 12 teaser brought official confirmation.

What Skins and Cosmetics to Expect

The four heroes are original Overwatch characters from the game’s 2016 launch. The skins are expected to match their appearances from Overwatch, adapted to Fortnite’s visual style.

Dataminers confirmed the collab will bring an Overwatch cosmetic bundle to the Fortnite Item Shop. It will also add a new weapon to the Chapter 7 Season 2 loot pool.

Leakers say Epic is preparing additional cosmetics alongside the skins, including back blings, pickaxes, and gliders. One leak also mentions an Overwatch-themed SUV cosmetic.

When Do the Skins Go Live

The skins and Overwatch cosmetics bundle should hit the Item Shop when it resets at 5:00 PM PDT / 8:00 PM EDT on May 14. Servers will go down briefly for the v40.40 patch before going live.

No special limited-time game mode has been confirmed. It is unclear whether the collab will include gameplay elements, and it seems unlikely at this point. Epic has not published a full content breakdown ahead of the update.

The collab was originally slated to launch alongside the Chapter 7 Season 2 Battle Pass, but was reportedly delayed after leaks.

Fortnite has handled recurring collabs in waves before. The first batch typically includes well-known characters, with a second wave featuring others. Whether Blizzard and Epic have agreed to more waves beyond this collab is not confirmed yet.
