To celebrate the upcoming launch of Forza Horizon 6, Microsoft’s much-anticipated open-world racer is set to feature in a curated exhibition at the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire, where fans can go hands-on with the game.
Inspired by the vibrant Horizon Festival, a special launch event for the Forza Horizon 6 Experience will take place on 23rd May between 10 am and 4 pm, showcasing Japanese cars from the game along with live music and demonstrations.
During the launch event, stunt driver Tessa Whittock will perform a drift show, while gaming vans will allow fans to play the game.
Developers from Playground Games will also be at the one-day event to talk about the game’s creation and answer questions, alongside game coding workshops run by RobocodeUK.
Tickets for the opening Forza Horizon 6 Experience day event are available on the British Motor Museum’s website.
After the launch event, the exhibition will continue until November. Numerous cars will be displayed on the mezzanine floor, from Japanese icons like the Nissan Skyline GT-R and Honda NSX-R, to the latest Toyota Land Cruiser, one of Forza Horizon 6’s cover cars.
Alongside the car displays, Forza Horizon 6 will be playable on Xbox in racing simulator setups, with a chance to win game merchandise in a competition.
While showcasing Japanese cars at a British-themed motor museum may seem tenuous, the Forza Horizon series is rooted in British car culture. Its developer, Playground Games, is based in Leamington Spa, not far from the British Motor Museum.
“Launching Forza Horizon 6 is a huge moment for our team, and we’re excited to open a new chapter for fans with The Forza Horizon 6 Experience at the British Motor Museum,” commented Trevor Williams, Studio Head at Playground Games.
“The Museum is a true home for motoring stories, and it’s the ideal partner to help us showcase the craft, artistry and engineering that sits behind every great car, both on the road and in-game. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the exhibition, whether you’ve played every Forza Horizon game or you are discovering it for the first time.”
Featuring an open world set in Japan and over 550 cars at launch, Forza Horizon 6 launches on 15th May for PC and Xbox Series X|S for those who pre-order the Premium Edition, with the standard release following on 19th May. A PS5 version is also set to launch later this year.
