There were four special cap presentations in the Great Britain locker room ahead of Sunday’s game with the USA at the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Switzerland.
GB’s longest-serving player Mark Richardson becomes the first to reach 125 caps. He made his GB debut 21 years ago and has been part of 26 major tournaments with the national side.
His first goal came in only his fifth game in his debut tournament in 2005 when he was on the scoresheet in a 10-0 win over China in the World Championship Division I Group A in Hungary. Richardson has scored eight goals in total for GB and added 24 assists for 32 points.
There were also two debut caps with Bayley Harewood and Sam Lyne making their first full appearances for Great Britain. Harewood becomes the 442nd player to represent GB and Lyne the 443rd.
Long-serving Sport Rehabber Nicola Sherlock was also presented with a special cap to make her 100th game working with GB and Olympic Qualifiers and World Championship tournaments.
Congratulations to all four on their special milestones.
