2026 Lindsays Trophy Finishers
Edinburgh AC are our Lindsays Trophy Tier One winners for the 2025-26 Lindsays Cross Country Season.
Close to 100 Scottish clubs were represented at one or more of our three National Championship events over the winter.
And Edinburgh topped the lot in our three tier league system to reclaim the Lindsays Trophy – 11 years after the capital club were our very first winners back in 2015.
EAC tallied 211 finishers at Cumbernauld, Lanark and Falkirk to win by 17 athletes from runners-up, and holders, Giffnock North (194). Garscube Harriers, Tier One winners in 2024, took third place (176).
Those three clubs were well clear of the rest with the Tier One top five completed by Glasgow Uni Hares and Hounds and Cambuslang Harriers.
Eilish McColgan, also supported for many years by sponsorship from Lindsays, presented the first Lindsays Trophy to Edinburgh AC in 2015. This time, GB international Megan Keith – 10th in the Women’s 10,000m at the World Champs last summer – was on hand at Meadowbank for the presentation and photos.
‘Cross Country is the grassroots base for endurance running in Scotland and I love the atmosphere around the Lindsays events every winter,’ said Megan.
‘I raced these events from my mid-teens and over the years have represented Inverness Harriers and Edinburgh University Hares and Hounds. For 12 clubs to finish 100 or more athletes over three events is great for the sport.’
Highlights to note:
*97 Scottish clubs in total fielded at least one finisher at the three national events in the Lindsays Cross Country Season
*The Tier One top ten featured two university clubs as well as East Kilbride AC
*A dozen clubs posted 100 or more finishers with the top ten (see below) plus Aberdeen AAC and Gala Harriers making a huge contribution to cross country participation
*Kilbarchan AAC won Tier Two and Calderglen Harriers (based in East Kilbride) won Tier Three

‘To have almost 100 clubs involved – 12 of them with more than 100 finishers – says a tremendous amount about the strength and reputation of the Lindsays Cross Country Season,’ said Ian Beattie, Chief Operating Officer of Lindsays.
‘We are incredibly proud to be associated with the continued growth and success of the championships and increased participation in sport, thanks to the hard work of scottishathletics.
‘Our congratulations go to everyone who took part, but particularly to Edinburgh AC on its success. A dozen seasons on from our first sponsorship season – where Edinburgh were the inaugural winners – it feels fitting that the trophy has returned to Meadowbank.’

Colin Hutchison Chief Executive of scottishathletics thanked Lindsays for their superb backing.
‘We were delighted last autumn when Lindsays extended their sponsorship of the Lindsays Cross Country Season because that helps grow interest and supports participation,’ said Colin.
‘The Lindsys Trophy in a league system gives us very clear evidence of clubs getting their athletes out in the winter to finish our three main national events in cross country.
‘Tier One in recent years has been dominated by Giffnock and Garscube but congratulations to Edinburgh for mustering strong numbers in 2025-26 and ensuring . . . their name on the Cup!
‘Thanks again to Linsdays for great support. We know from our social media channels there is huge interest generated by events in the Lindsays Cross Country Season.’
