The Golden State Warriors are reportedly interested in bringing LeBron James and Anthony Davis to the team this offseason.
James is a free agent following the expiration of his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, although they still want to keep him.
The Warriors would need to trade for Davis, as there are two years remaining on his deal with the Washington Wizards.
Golden State are looking to go all-in on the 2026/27 season, as time is running out for Stephen Curry to win another title.
Here is the Warriors’ potential starting five if James and Davis were to join Curry at the Chase Center this summer.
Projecting the Warriors’ lineup with LeBron James and Anthony Davis
The Warriors would immediately become championship contenders with James and Davis in the lineup.
With Curry as the point guard, James on the wing, and Davis in the paint, they would have an elite big three.

Draymond Green is also expected to stay in Golden State and bring his winning mentality for at least one more season.
He has declined his $27.7 million player option to give the front office more cap space to sign James in free agency.
Shooting guard Brandin Podziemski would provide great balance to the starting five as a fourth scoring option and floor spacer.
| Position | Starter | Bench |
| Point Guard | Steph Curry | De’Anthony Melton |
| Shooting Guard | Brandin Podziemski | Will Richard |
| Small Forward | LeBron James | Gui Santos |
| Power Forward | Draymond Green | Yaxel Lendeborg |
| Center | Anthony Davis | Al Horford |
Jimmy Butler would need to be included in the trade for Davis, while Moses Moody and Kristaps Porzingis would also need to leave.
This could leave the Warriors with a depleted bench lineup, including De’Anthony Melton, Will Richard and Gui Santos.
Al Horford brings vast experience as a backup center, whereas Yaxel Lendeborg just joined the team in the NBA Draft.
Basketball fans will debate whether this team is capable of winning a championship, but it would certainly be entertaining.
It would be particularly special to watch two rivals, Curry and James, play together in the final years of their legendary careers.
