Gran Turismo 7’s next three cars confirmed

Gran Turismo 7’s next three cars confirmed

It’s a Porsche. But we knew that already.

The problem is, with a myriad of derivatives over the 60-odd years, it was nigh on impossible to nail down which rear-engine Beetle relative it was.

Following a cloaked teaser last week, Series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi has now posted a de-robed confirmation image. Consequently, the following three cars will be arriving in Gran Turismo 7 tomorrow (23rd April).

New cars

  • Renault Twingo (first generation)
  • Yangwang U9
  • Porsche 911 (964) Turbo S Leichtbau

The Renault (aka the ‘friendly frog’) and Yangwang (world’s fastest car) were straightforward to spot from the aforementioned teaser, but now we know that this is the rare Turbo S variant of the otherwise ubiquitous 964-generation 911.

With the naturally aspirated Carrera RS edition already in GT7, this S variant has a turbocharged 3.3-litre flat-six engine, lower suspension and the removal of power-assistance for the steering. It also went on a diet, hence the Leichtbau moniker. This stands for light build, and is not to be confused with Flachbau, which is another version with a ‘flat’ nose.

Since the car confirmations, more details have emerged, with the update set to add a new Extra Menu, World Circuits races, Power Pack challenges and more.

Extra Menu No. 53: Muscle Cars

As with most monthly updates, Gran Turismo 7’s 1.69 patch will add an additional GT Cafe Menu in the form of Extra Menu No. 53: Muscle Cars.

Requiring a Collector Level of 55 or above, this new menu sees you collect a Chevrolet Chevelle, Dodge Challenger and Pontiac GTO.

World Circuit events

Three World Circuit events are also coming in the next update:

  • Schwarzwald League – Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve
  • Hypercar Parade – Yas Marina Circuit
  • World Touring Car 900 – Autódromo de Interlagos

 Scapes

Scapes will also be updated with a new Featured Curation: the awkwardly-named ‘Move the Camera Up and Down III.’ This will seemingly be a third collection of Scapes images where you can move the camera up and down freely.

Power Pack / Power Pack Challenges

Finally, new challenges will be added to Gran Turismo 7’s Power Pack DLC, with rewards for completing events rotating weekly.

Gran Turismo update 1.69 release date

Gran Turismo 7’s next update will be released tomorrow, 23rd April 2026, for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Further details are expected tomorrow (23rd April) in the patch notes, including, presumably, new engine swaps, and we’ll update this article accordingly.
