Great Britain secured the silver medal at the Women’s World Championship Division I Group B in Spain with a final-day 3-1 victory over Kazakhstan.
GB went into the final day with a chance of promotion but Netherlands beat Latvia 6-3 to secure gold and an immediate return to Division IA.
The silver medal for GB builds on the bronze medal at the 2025 World Championship in Dumfries in Scotland.
GB had the perfect start as Jodie Alderson-Smith scored on the powerplay inside the first two minutes (01:52).
It was a fast start to the second period too for GB as Robin Mullen stretched the lead to two (21:33).

Alderson-Smith made it 3-0 only 26 seconds later as the scored her second of the game (21:59).
Kazakhstan got on the board through Anastassiya Orazbayeva as the second period drew to a close (36:40).
There were no goals in the third session as GB saw out the game to secure the victory to win them the silver medal.
