After months of speculation surrounding the future of Jets running back Breece Hall, the Jets have finally come to terms on an extension with the back worth up to $45 million over three years. According to Connor Hughes of SNY, the deal has no guarantees in year three which essentially makes it a 2-year deal with $29 million fully guaranteed.
Hall has spent much of the past several months taking to social media to voice his displeasure with the Jets, but in the end a huge contract offer got it done.
Coming off of his first career 1,000 yard season, Hall has taken veiled shots at Gang Green for spending on free agents while he was waiting for a deal, took to Instagram to post “free 20“, the number he wears, and had a less than enthusiastic response to being asked about the possibility of being a Jet long-term.
That’s all water under the bridge now with a new deal in hand as part of an offense that fans have reason to believe may be on the verge of a significant uptick in production.
With the return of quarterback Geno Smith under center and the additions of first round picks Kenyon Sadiq and Omar Cooper Jr, Hall will be the featured back in an offense that has more pieces than any group he’s been a part of since arriving.
