Hardik Pandya set to be appointed as team India’s new skipper in the Shortest format of the game after Rohit’s retirement

Rohit Sharma stepped down from T20I cricket after India’s ICC T20 World Cup win, so now Hardik Pandya is set to become the team’s captain for the shortest format of the game. Hardik Pandya has been chosen to spearhead India’s move into the future after Rohit Sharma served as captain. It is seen as a chance for younger players to take on more responsibility within the team setup.

When you bring on a new leader such as Hardik Pandya you are surly going to expect some replenishment of vigour, innovation and new concepts in the Indian cricket team. He is a skipper who has shown excellent captaincy skills while featuring in the ipl. Besides his ipl success, this 30 year old has been a consistent performer at the international scene. Hardik Pandya has taken the lead of the team to a victory in 10 out of 16 T20Is, with 5 losses and one match contributes to a draw, whenever Rohit Sharma had taken breaks for workload management

Pandya, who demonstrated his all-round abilities in the last T20 World Cup where he scored 144 runs at an impressive average of 48.00 while taking 11 wickets, is not likely to be left out of the squad in the series against Sri Lanka. His showings in this tournament testify on how well he can play even when everything seems hard; his highest batting score was 50* whereas his most successful bowling spell included 3/20.

After leading Mumbai Indians through a tough season in IPL 2024, Pandya was Verbally assaulted online and faced tough criticisms from the public when he came back from a leg injury he had incurred at last year’s 50-over World Cup.

On the other hand, there was an exceptional development with respect to Indian cricket: the Indian Men’s Team got a new coach in the person of Gautam Gambhir, who was announced by the BCCI. Gambhir, an ex-opener for India’s left-handed cricket team who has also recently been seen as mentor at Kolkata Knight Riders, has a lot of wealth in terms of expertise that he brings as he steered KKR to their third IPL title in 2024.

Jay Shah, the BCCI Secretary, has a lot of trust in the capability of Gambhir to take Indian cricket to the next level since he knows the present-day sport so well and has demonstrated his skills during the same.
