Harry Kane ‘best transfer’ Bayern Munich have made – Uli Hoeneß

Speaking to ARD in the aftermath of Bayern Munich’s domestic double following their 3-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart in the DFB Pokal final, Uli Hoeneß name dropped Harry Kane as the club’s best ever signing.

“This is the best transfer we’ve ever made,” said Hoeneß of Kane, who has scored 61 goals in 52 games this season. When asked about Barcelona’s interest in their star, Bayern’s former president shot down their Spanish counterparts: “Bayern is a buying club, not a selling club. Besides, Barcelona doesn’t even have any money.”

It’s certainly a huge statement from Hoeneß, given that Bayern Munich have signed stars such as Franck Ribéry and Robert Lewandowski in the past, but with 146 goals and 33 assists in 147 appearances across all competitions for Germany’s record champions, you can certainly argue a case for Kane, who responded.

“To hear those kinds of words, at a club like this, we know how many great players have played here, it’s special,” the Englishman explained.
