Brendon McCullum, the head coach of the English cricket team, praised the player Jos Buttler for being one of the best white-ball cricketers that Three Lions ever had. Consequently, Phil Salt will lead England in its upcoming T20I Series with Australia owing to Buttler’s injured calf. The five ODIs that follow on from it may also be in jeopardy for Buttler. Buttler’s career has been described by McCullum as nothing but extraordinary in a Sky Sports interview. According to him; at 34 years old, “he has nothing left to prove”.
In this regard Buttler should retire now because he is likely to go down as the greatest ever white-ball player according to McCullum.” The coach suggested that this famous and successful cricketer should take some time off cricket without having anything to hide.
This means it is my duty towards him and I keep sending him those sorts of messages on repeat.” He also added that they would ensure he is well-conditioned before that (the Champions Trophy), which remains a priority after all.
According to him, “We are given the time to initiate the discussions and come up with frameworks that will help us synchronize our faiths with the terminologies we employ while working together, so as to optimize our values within that changing room”.
The opening game of the T20I series will occur on September 11 in Southampton. Cardiff hosts the second matchup on September 13 before Manchester hosts the final T20I game on September 15.
