Zaheer taking an ODI wicket

With over 600 wickets in international cricket, Zaheer Khan is one of the finest bowlers to ever don the Indian jersey

1. 7/87 vs Bangladesh, Mirpur, 2010

After picking up 3 wickets in the first innings and helping Indian team in bundling out Bangladesh for 233 runs, Zaheer would outdo himself and take his career-best figures of 7/87 in the second innings to bowl out the hosts for 312 runs. Bangladesh would only be able to set a target of 2 runs for the visitors.

2. 5/29 vs New Zealand, Hamilton, 2002

After India got bundled out for only 99 runs in the first innings, Zaheer’s superb 5-wicket haul massively helped the visitors in bundling out the hosts for only 94 runs. However, these efforts would all go in vain as India would get bundled out for 154 in the second innings and the Kiwis would achieve the 160-run target with rather ease.

3. 5/34 vs Bangladesh, Mirpur, 2007

After a batting masterclass from India which saw 4 batters namely – Wasim Jaffer, Dinesh Karthik, Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar hit centuries, the visitors would go on to post a humongous total of 610/3 before declaring. In reply, Zaheer’s 5-wicket haul would see Bangladesh get bowled out for 118.

4. 5/42 vs Sri Lanka, Madgao, 2007

An amazing 5-wicket haul from Zaheer would see Sri Lanka get restricted to 230/8 after their 50 overs. The left-arm pacer would take the crucial wickets of Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara in the innings. Thanks to fifties from both Rahul Dravid and MS Dhoni, India would go on to easily achieve the target of 231 in 46.3 overs.

5. 5/53 vs New Zealand, Wellington, 2002

After India got bundled out for only 161 runs in the first innings, it was upto their bowlers to restrict the Black Caps to a low score if they didn’t want to go too far behind in the match and Zaheer delivered to the big expectations. His 5-wicket haul would help India bundle out the hosts for 247.
