WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer recently shared how AJ Styles reacted to her adopting a version of his signature Spiral Tap finisher.
Vaquer debuted the move at WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025, where she defeated IYO SKY to capture the vacant Women’s World Championship. Her variation of the high-risk maneuver differs slightly from Styles’ original, as he typically faces the ring from the top turnbuckle and lands on his back upon impact.
Speaking on a recent edition of the “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” podcast, Vaquer recalled that Styles immediately recognized the similarity between the two versions. However, rather than taking issue with it, he gave her his full approval — and even complimented her execution. She said,
“One time he said to me, ‘Oh, it’s like my move.’ I’m like, Oops. And he says, ‘No, you look better.’ I say, ‘No, I can’t believe you say that.’ I love him.”
