The Los Angeles Rams added a future Hall of Famer to their defense when they acquired Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for Jared Verse and draft compensation.
The Rams sent three future picks to the Browns, including a 2027 first-rounder, 2028 second-rounder and 2029 third-rounder.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the 2029 third-round pick will become a first-rounder if the Rams trade Garrett to an AFC North team:

The Browns likely included this condition because they don’t want to see their former franchise icon play for a division rival.
While the Browns can’t force the Rams to honor their request, they at least made it more difficult for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens or Cincinnati Bengals to acquire Garrett.
The Rams of course do not anticipate trading Garrett as they envision him being a major part of their defense for years to come.
He is under team control through the 2030 season after previously signing a four-year, $130 million contract with the Browns. Garrett wanted nothing more than to stay in Cleveland for his entire career, but couldn’t pass up the opportunity to compete for a Super Bowl.
Aaron Donald hints at coming out of retirement to play with Myles Garrett on Rams
With a ton of excitement surrounding the Rams, former defensive tackle Michael Brockers suggested that Aaron Donald could come out of retirement to play with Garrett.
Pat McAfee added to the speculation by saying that Donald didn’t dismiss the possibility when he directly asked him if he would consider playing for the Rams next season.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz also reported that Donald likes the idea of helping the Rams win another Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium, while team captain Quentin Lake said it’s only a matter of time before the 10-time Pro Bowler returns to the team.
Donald last played for the Rams in 2023 and has stated over the years that he is happy being retired. However, after hinting last season that he would have attempted a comeback if the Rams acquired Micah Parsons, Donald might finally put the pads back on this time.
A defensive front with Garrett and Donald is a scary thought for quarterbacks, and after the Rams added Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson to their secondary, they should have one of the best defenses in the NFL next season.
