How to watch the Giro d’Italia 2026

It’s finally Grand Tour season. The first three-weeker of the year is the Giro d’Italia, which starts on Friday 8th May and runs until Sunday 31st May. The race will be shown live from start to finish in the UK on TNT Sports and HBO Max.

The 2026 Giro d’Italia starts on the Black Sea coast in Bulgaria, which is the host country for the opening three stages. After crossing the Adriatic, the racing will move north from Calabria towards the summit finishes in the Apennines to round out week one. The second week sees the race travel across the Italian mainland, starting with the race’s only time-trial. Before the final rest day though, the riders will get their first taste of the Alps, with a summit finish in the Aosta Valley. To close out the GC fight, the peloton tackles the climbs of the Friuli, including a double ascent of Pinacavallo, before one final trip to Rome on Stage 21.

Jonas Vingegaard starts the Giro as the overwhelming favourite, with Giulio Pellizzari, Egan Bernal and Adam Yates among the names touted for a podium bid.

All 21 stages of the Giro d’Italia 2025 will be available to watch in the UK and Ireland on TNT Sports. This will include ‘The Breakaway’ analysis show that will air before and after each stage. To watch on the go, you can stream the racing on HBO Max.

In the United States, the racing will be available on Max; FloBikes will provide the coverage over in Canada; and for Australians, the Giro will be shown live on SBS.

For free-to-air coverage, Italy will be offering wall-to-wall coverage of the Giro via its national broadcaster Rai. The racing will also be on free-to-air channels in Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Bulgaria.

If it’s not being shown in your country, you may be able to watch coverage using a VPN – Virtual Private Network – which allows users to mask their IP address and watch geo-blocked content, provided they don’t need to pay for a subscription. This is also helpful for watching paid-for coverage while abroad in countries without access.
