UFC Fight Night: Muhammad vs. Bonfim was this past weekend and featured a lot of decisions. Who won and who lost? Let’s get to the rundown.
UFC Fight Night: Muhammad vs. Bonfim
GOOD- Iwo Baraniewski stops Junior Tafa
Baraniewski goes for a quick takedown attempt but Tafa fights it off so Baraniewski nails him with some leg kicks instead, sending Tafa to the mat in pain. Baraniewski pounces with follow-up strikes until the referee jumps in to stop the fight not quite a minute and a half into the first round. Wow.
Baraniewski improves to a perfect 9-0 while Tafa drops to 7-6. Good win for Baraniewski.
BAD/GOOD- Bryce Mitchell submits Santiago Luna
They trade strikes early until Mitchell gets a takedown and smothers Luna for the rest of the first round. The second round begins with more early striking exchanges before Mitchell tries for a takedown. Luna is able to reverse it, though, and he lands on top. Mitchell turns things around and gets on top himself and lays-and-prays for the rest of the second round. The third round starts with the fight going back to the ground, this time with Luna on top. It doesn’t last long, though, as Mitchell scrambles and is now in the dominant position. Mitchell locks on an arm-triangle choke and Luna has to tap with just eight seconds left in the fight. The submission was good but the rest…not so much.
Mitchell improves to 19-3 while Luna is handed his first career loss and is now 8-1. Good win for Mitchell.
GOOD- Fares Ziam vs. Tom Nolan
Nolan lands a few kicks early before Ziam gets a takedown. Nolan quickly works his way to his feet and now Nolan gets a takedown. Ziam works his way up but Nolan gets a mat return. Nolan works his way back up and the first round ends. The second round begins with some striking exchanges before Nolan tries for a takedown. They clinch for a while before Ziam falls to the mat and Nolan follows him down. Nolan works his ground-and-pound for the rest of the second round. The third round starts with some more striking exchanges until Ziam gets a takedown. They grapple for the rest of the fight. We go to the judges to render their verdict.
Nolan wins the decision to improve to 11-1 and has won 5 straight fights while Ziam drops to 18-5 and has his 6 fight winning streak snapped. Good win for Nolan. At least there’s one Nolan who’ll have success in the next few months.
GOOD- Brendan Allen vs. Edmen Shahbazyan
They trade deliberate strikes early before Allen tries for a few takedowns that he can’t get so they go back to trading strikes for the rest of the first round. The second round begins with Allen beating Shahbazyan to the literal punch time and again. Shahbazyan is battling back, though, and both men are landing good strikes as the second round ends. The third round starts with both fighters beating the fire out of each other. The blood is flowing as Allen elbows Shahbazyan repeatedly. Allen gets a late takedown but they get back to their feet and slug it out until the fight ends. We go to the judges to render their verdict.
Allen wins the decision to improve to 27-7 and has won 3 straight fights while Shahbazyan drops to 16-6 and has his 3 fight winning streak snapped. Good win for Allen.
GOOD- Belal Muhammad vs. Gabriel Bonfim
They’re trading strikes early, with Bonfim landing some good leg kicks. Bonfim is staying elusive and still working those leg kicks. The second round begins with more of the same, with Muhammad showing the effects of those repeated leg kicks. He’s tough, though, so he’s not stopping. The third round starts with Muhammad trying for a takedown but Bonfim fights it off. Strikes are flying from all angles and a lot are connecting for Bonfim. Muhammad isn’t having quite as much success but he’s tough and hanging in there.
The fourth round opens with strikes coming at a constant pace, with both men having good success and showing great toughness. The fifth round commences with still more of the same effective striking and elusiveness from Bonfim and great toughness and tenacity from Muhammad. The fight ends so we go to the judges to render their verdict.
Bonfim wins the decision to improve to 20-1 and has won 5 straight fights while Muhammad drops to 24-6 with 1 No Contest and has lost 3 straight fights. Good win for Bonfim.

My new epic fantasy book is out. It’s called Kingdom of Zarias: The End’s Beginning. The exciting epic fantasy series Kingdom of Zarias returns with the 4th book in the series. After the harrowing events of Book 3 the residents of the Kingdom of Zarias continue on their paths. Serena Summers continues to learn and grow as a fighter, desperately seeking to become stronger before she loses anyone else in her life. Daniel Summers discovers new parts of the world that open his eyes to just how little he truly knows. A new hero, Lamar Abeers, arrives to join the fight against evil. Plus, Zach Summers, Tiana Highsmith, and Xavien Ekens continue their journeys with their friends, and a new ruler of Vhaharen is crowned. The world has found a little peace. However, that peace is only temporary. In a shocking act of violence, the monstrous villain Galren strikes from the shadows and changes the world forever. This is Book 4 in the series. There’s lots of action, magic, and monsters in the Kingdom of Zarias. It’s like a tabletop game in novel form. It’s on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and many other places. Also, my line of comic books are now available under the 3P Comics label. If you’re interested, I would greatly appreciate it if you would check it out and support me. Thank you very much, have a good day.
