Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Jason Holder delivered a stellar all-round performance to guide his side to a stunning four-wicket win over defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2026 on Thursday in Ahmedabad.

During the post match presentation, the Player of the Match, Holder, reflected on his team’s performance and said, “Happy things how went for me personally. Felt our energy was good from the start. After the first couple of overs, everyone was a little edgy but credit to KG (for turning it around).”

Holder first struck on the first ball of the ninth over to dismiss Jitesh Sharma (1) and then removed set batter Romario Shepherd (17) in the 15th over. He conceded 29 runs from four overs at an economy of 7.25.

The 34-year-old also took three catches to dismiss captain Rajat Patidar (19), Tim David (1) and Krunal Pandya (4). Speaking about the catches, he added, “I did see him (Rabada), was just hoping to not run into him. He was in my peripheral but he was far enough for me to put in an attempt (to catch it). (On ball following him) I welcome it as it comes.”

Holder, who contributed with 12 runs in the chase said,  “Just happy to hold on to the chances. Happy to contribute and to get over the line. The way this franchise approaches, you have to stay sharp. More or less about coming in when needed, and delivering.”

Gujarat currently sit fifth in the points table with five wins from nine matches. They will next face table topper Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 3 in Ahmedabad.
