Arriving in the mail for review this past week were a set of Speed Sticks Pro from SuperSpeed Golf.
The set consists of three training sticks of varying weights designed to train your fast twitch muscles to generate more speed. The company calls it “overspeed” training.
More speed = more distance (at least theoretically).
The shafts have a weight port at the end, and are said to promote optimal lag and release points.
Interestingly, the grips are large — larger even than the midsized grips I use on my gamers. SuperSpeed Golf says that smaller grips hinder speed potential.
Maybe I should try even larger grips on my clubs. Maybe a mid with a few extra wraps. I might help with the arthritis in my hands as well.
SuperSpeed also included a PRGR Launch Monitor so I can accurately measure my speed improvement.
The entire training program with the Speed Sticks Pro is done on the company’s mobile app.
I’m actually pretty excited about this one. I have never been a long hitter, and it has (naturally) gotten worse as I have gotten older. A playing partner the other day asked if I ever miss a fairway off the tee and my response was that “I don’t hit it far enough to miss the fairway.”
I’ve given the sticks a few practice swings and I can see how they could help me generate more speed.
Some more photos of the package below. I’ll have a full review with my findings as soon as I’ve given it a thorough test.
