Opening pair (Shubman Gill, Yashashvi Jaiswal)

Shubman Gill has been given the oppourtunity to lead the Indian side for the first time. Gill is already an established opening batter at the international arena, it will be interesting to see how Gill plays under captaincy pressure. Jaiswal, who travelled with India to USA and West Indies during the recently concluded T20 World Cup, is the frontrunner to open the innings for India alongside Gill.

Middle order (Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag, Shivam Dube)

Gaikwad needs no introduction, and he will be a perfect option to come at number 3 and play a similar role, which Virat Kohli used to play for India. Sanju Samson is the most senior player in the entire squad and will likely to play on his merit.

Riyan Parag has received maiden India call-up due to his excellent run in IPL 2024, as the team is seeking a player for a long run at this spot, Parag will need to grab this opportunity with both hands. Shivam Dube, who played a crucial knock in the final of T20 World cup, is a perfect fit to come at 6 or early as per the situation of the game.

Finishers (Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar)

Rinku Singh is the proven finisher and has an exciting record in T20Is. Singh has an average of 89 after playing 15 T-20 matches for India at a strike rate of 176.23. There is no better option than Rinku to play the finisher role. While Washington Sundar’s batting expertise also added some weightage in India’s batting order.
