Indian men’s doubles pair placed in Group C for Paris Olympics

The 33rd Summer Olympics start really soon and that has got the athletes and fans in a frenzy already. The global event is undoubtedly popular in India, but not as famous as cricket. The Indian men’s doubles pair gets placed in Group C for Paris Olympics as the officials release all the groups participating.

The 33rd Summer Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11 in Paris and 16 other French cities. This will be the third time Paris hosts the Games, following 1900 and 1924, making it the second city after London to do so three times.

Satwik-Chirag enter the Paris Olympics in Group C

The group stage draw for the badminton men’s doubles tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympics was announced on Monday. The Indian duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, who are seeded third, were placed in Group C.

They will compete against the French pair Lucas Corvee and Ronan Labar, the Indonesian team Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto, and the German duo Mark Lamsfuss and Marvin Seidel.

This group stage promises to be competitive, with strong pairs from different countries vying for advancement in the tournament.

Here Are the other groups involved in men’s doubles

World No.1 Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang of China, recent winners of the KAPAL API Indonesia Open 2024, will compete in Group A against Tokyo 2020 bronze medalists Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik of Malaysia, Ben Lane and Sean Vendy of Great Britain, and Canada’s Dong Adam and Nyl Yakura.

In Group B, world champions Kang Min Hyuk and Seo Seung Jae of Korea are paired with France’s Christo Popov and Toma Junior Popov, Thailand’s Supak Jomkoh and Kittinupong Kedren, and Czechia’s Ondrej Kral and Adam Mendrek.

Group D features five pairs, including reigning Olympic champions Lee Yang and Wang Chi-Lin from Chinese Taipei and World Championships silver medalists Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen from Denmark. The group also includes China’s Liu Yu Chen and Ou Xuan Yi, 2021 world champions Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi, and the USA’s Vinson Chiu and Joshua Yuan.
