IndyCar Detroit – Race Results

Just a short week after the Indianapolis 500, drivers hit the streets of Detroit for a battle between concrete walls and over manhole covers.

After fighting with multiple different drivers, Alex Palou eventually pulled away towards the end of the race. He survived multiple restarts and went on to earn his fourth victory of the season.

Kyle Kirkwood was second across the line after a solid day, and Graham Rahal survived his own scraps to take his third podium of the year. Overall, it was a Honda filled podium in Chevy’s home race.

The tight streets of Detroit provided plenty of action, with collisions and spins nearly every 10 laps. Will Power, Christian Rasmussen, and Santino Ferrucci among those that retired early.

Scott Dixon also retired early with a hybrid failure, and the veteran called out the ridiculousness of having a DNF due to the failure of a spec part.

Even with four consecutive weeks on track, drivers to not get any rest yet. Next weekend is a battle on the short oval at World Wide Technology Raceway.
