On Saturday evening, the Indian team visited the office of the Consulate General of India in Belfast after being invited by the Consul General.

Team India have been dining regularly at a restaurant called The Bites of India. It has become a popular spot among the players, as this is their first visit to Belfast. For many of them, including Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, it is also their first trip to Ireland. No player has attracted more attention in the capital city of Northern Ireland than the teenage sensation. The growing popularity of the 15-year-old has extended beyond Ireland and across the UK.
During his previous visit to the restaurant, Sooryavanshi presented his jersey to the establishment as a keepsake. It was a thoughtful gesture from the uncapped youngster, who appears to be edging closer to his international debut.
Belfast Rolls Out the Red Carpet for Team India
On Saturday, the Men in Blue neither had dinner at the team hotel nor at The Bites of India. Instead, they attended a reception at the office of the Consulate General of India in Belfast. The Indian team were hosted by Consul General of India Kiran Khatri, where they interacted with members of the Indian diaspora and other distinguished guests. The gathering highlighted cricket’s unique ability to bring communities together across borders.
It was an off day for the visitors after their optional practice session was abandoned because of persistent rain and an unfit outfield.
Abhishek’s Gesture Leaves Young Fan Speechless
A young Indian fan had been waiting outside the team hotel for a long time. As the Indian team were leaving, she positioned herself near the exit gate. The moment Abhishek Sharma appeared, she asked him for multiple autographs. She first got him to sign her bat, then her jacket and finally her arm. The youngster happily obliged. As expected, the young fan was overjoyed by the gesture and jumped with delight.
