It’s an opportunity for the players to prove themselves – Prosper Narteh Ogum on Black Starlets’ friendlies against Ivory Coast – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

Black Starlets head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has outlined the importance of Ghana’s upcoming double-header friendly matches against Ivory Coast as preparations intensify for the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana’s U-17 side will face the Young Elephants in two international friendlies ahead of the tournament, which will be staged in Morocco later this year.

Both matches are set to take place at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, with the first encounter scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, and the second on Friday, May 1.

Speaking ahead of the games, Ogum said the fixtures would play a key role in helping him assess his squad and fine-tune his tactical plans before the continental competition.

“This is an opportunity for the players to prove themselves,” he told the Ghana Football Association website.

“We are looking at consistency, discipline and how well they execute our game plan.

“It’s about building a team that can compete at the highest level,” he added.

The Black Starlets have already arrived in Ebimpe after departing Ghana on Sunday to begin the next phase of their preparations.

Ghana have been drawn in Group D of the tournament alongside Senegal, Algeria and South Africa in what promises to be a highly competitive group stage campaign.
