Naraku’s WWE debut week somehow became even bigger after IYO SKY officially announced that they are now officially married.
On May 17, 2026, IYO SKY took to Twitter and revealed that she and NARAKU are now married. The two Japanese wrestling stars had been engaged after being together for several years. In the announcement, SKY noted that both of them started their wrestling careers in Japan before eventually finding themselves on the same stage in WWE.
“On a personal note, we would like to announce that NARAKU (formerly EVIL) of WWE and IYO SKY (formerly Io Shirai) of WWE are now married.”
SKY then reflected on their shared journey from Japan to WWE, saying they now feel a deep connection as both partners and colleagues.
“We began our professional wrestling careers in Japan, each seeing different landscapes and ‘skies,’ but starting this early summer, we feel a deep sense of connection and joy at becoming colleagues and comrades as we take on the same stage—WWE—across the ocean.”
The announcement also made it clear that the two plan to support each other both in life and in their WWE careers.
“From now on, as a married couple, we will support each other in our daily lives. As WWE ‘Superstars,’ we will share both the lonely ‘darkness’ and the glory, lifting each other up and striving to shine even brighter.”
NARAKU recently made his NXT in-ring debut on the May 12 episode, defeating Lince Dorado in dominant fashion. The former NJPW star has already made an impact under his new WWE name, while IYO SKY remains one of WWE’s top women’s division stars.
