Jarrell Miller Outworks Lenier Pero in a Slow DAZN 12-Rounder at Fontainebleau Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV (April 26th, 2026)– In a do or die crossroads bout, heavyweight contender Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller out slothed Lenier Pero in a boring 12 round center of the ring turned closes quarters battle on the ropes affair to keep his heavyweight world title hopes alive, in a World Boxing Association World Heavyweight title eliminator bout in the main event of a six bouts card at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, on Saturday night, April 26, 2026.
Miller, age 37 and 305 pounds, a big target yet a fine technical boxer, 28-1-2 with 22 knockouts, North Bellmore, New York, had his hands full with Pero, now 13-1 with eight knockouts, Miami, Florida, by way of Camaguey, Cuba. Pero built an early lead for the first two rounds with pinpoint pawing body jabs.
Miller, using an Archie Moore cross-arms style defense, had little regard for any power coming from light-hitting southpaw Pero, and began using his size to back up and outmuscle Pero, who at 151 pounds gave away 54 pounds to Miller. Miller eventually backed Pero into the ropes, and turned the affair into landing hooks, body shots, and uppercuts on the inside at close quarters with come-forward pressure.
Miller had volume, Pero had initial punch landing accuracy, which faded as the rounds progressed. Miller has twice as many fights and hardcore experience, and Pero was tired as the pace increased in the second half of the bout. The bout wound up in a telephone booth, with both combatants involved in give and take. Pero just could not shake Miller on top of him, and was forced into close exchanges which never stopped for all 12 rounds.
Miller threw 1003 punches to Pero’s 648 pounds. Miller landed 290 punches to Pero’s 253 punches. Miller outhustled and outmuscled Pero for this win, not more accurate, but clearly the aggressor and more effective fighter overall to record this win.

Nishant Dev won by stoppage in two rounds over Juan Carlos Guerra Jr., Super Welterweights (2:57). Guerra was down in the second round.
